After some treaming, originally uploaded by brunom.

We cleared the beds to make way for new growth. Also, we now can plant to make use of that lovely winter sun.

Hi, How did you get started with aquaponics in Sydney? I’d love to get a system started for my parents but I can’t afford a $1,000 system! I can take care of fish but have no experience in hydroponics. can you advise me of a resourse, store or book?

    Hello Anita,

Our prototype is certainly a little bit over the top. There are systems that are much smaller, that you can actually run of a small, regular fish tank and those are for sure much cheaper than our setup. Of course you will not be able to grow large fish or very large amounts of veggies but it should do. You can check [ http://is.gd/1d7V ] the backyard aquaponics forums, they have threads about small systems and that might suit your needs.

    I hope this helps.
